![]() The archer can miss pretty easily because terrain or a smoke cloud in the battlefield, but can shoot off the many elemental arrows you'll find in the world and that can save the sourcehunters in a pinch. The rogue is either bow or dagger, both have really strong crits but also weaknesses. My friend did Geomancer, Hydrosophist, and witchcraft but he primarily leveled witchcraft and geomancer. For example, my class was those 3 with Fire and Electricity at level 4 & 5 for strong abilities and witchcraft at 2 points for some charming/health steal and summoning. If you're a mage, which I primarily played, focus on two schools that are different enough to damage most enemies in terms of resistances like Aerothurge (electricity) and Pyromancy (fire.) Witchcraft is also extremely viable with the vampire-esque abilities and the summonings it has. ![]() There are perks to increase resistances to status effects, of which there are a lot more than you'd think, so dont ignore them especially if the character is going to be your tank/front line. If you're playing a warrior, pick your weapons and stick with them be it sword/shield, two handed, or dual sword. I've started it again with my girlfriend recently, put about 15-20 hours so far and I'm loving it just like last time. I played through divinity OS with a friend originally, kept us busy for about a month with maybe 40-50 hours of playtime due to the way we both play games. The character build you choose/create can end up being not viable because the way levelling works and the finite amount of XP that can be gained in a playthrough. Some negatives about it are that it can be obtuse at times, meaning the quests aren't exactly spelled out for you and have to be figured out via dialogue or sometimes just exploring heavily. Lots of ways to accomplish tasks, tons of quests you can find along the way that can start organically and not just "talk to quest giver." I'm generally not a turn based combat fan, but the combat in this is tons of fun simply because the way different elements (fire, ice, oil, rain, electricity, etc) can interact to make every battle different and very interesting.
